Delibrate and targeted economic pressure through boycotting can be one of the most effective tools in resisting Trump, MAGA, and their authoritarian agenda.
A key example of this is the Target boycott which started in response to rolling back their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Since, as of September 2025, Target experienced a loss of $20 billion in shareholder value.
Similarly, Disney decided to reinstate Jimmy Kimmel and his late-night talk show after a large public backlash and 1.7 million unsubcriptions from the Disney+ streaming service.
Successful boycotts contain the following elements:
- a large group of people;
- targeting specific companies;
- for a specific reason or demand.
There isn’t a specific list of boycotts to participate in on this site, as choosing where to spend your money is a very personal decision. However, being more mindful of your purchases is a very good start.
